“The people must know before they can act, and there is no educator to compare with the press.”

Dear Delegates and MUN Directors,
The Press Room pulses with intensity, a constant buzz of creation and controlled chaos. Departments of writers, designers, photographers, and artists blend their talents into one, navigating tight schedules and last-minute edits with practiced urgency.
Every typed letter, brush stroke and camera click is driven by a common goal – one to document, distill, and deliver the holistic spirit of the DAIMUN conference to each delegate.
Step inside our world, and you’ll be greeted with the perpetual warmth of freshly printed leaflets, the glow of overworked laptop screens and the unmistakable hum of stories waiting to be told.
Within the Press Corps, we don’t simply observe, we immortalize. Through our official newsletter, The Daily MUNtra, we weave together every debate, celebration, and unforgettable moment into stories that encapsulate the essence of the conference. From echoed laughter during Motions of Entertainment, to the flurry of raised placards in committee, everything we notice is captured with intention and crafted into lasting memory.
Although the Press Corps maneuvers overwhelmingly tight deadlines and a whirlwind of excited hustle, we act as one. Each department interlinks and enhances to produce an output of our combined effort that forms the interdependent body of DAIMUN.
We are the eyes, ears and mouth behind the conference. Our photographers snap every moment into timeless existence, while artists paint delegates in action as they navigate global issues with fierce debate and undying passion. Our writers listen and reflect on the happenings of the committee, transforming what seem like insignificant instants into witty articles that both inform and amuse every delegate. The designers format each page into aesthetically pleasing graphics which are truly a sight for sore eyes. The videography and outreach team strive to connect with delegates through visual media, showcasing the fun snippets of the event that make it such a memorable one.
If the conference is the story, the Press Corps are the ink that ensures it leaves an everlasting stain. Day and night, we work behind the scenes - observing, recording, designing. Every speech, every spark of diplomacy, every stifled laugh or thunderous applause after a delegate’s standpoint all find their way into our words, frames, and designs.
With cameras rolling, keyboards clicking, and spirits high, we welcome you to the Press Corps at DAIMUN 2025. Let the stories begin.
Warm Regards,
Ria Chawla
